ISML 2010: Another necklace for Shana

ISML 2010: Another necklace for Shana
Akiyama, Katsura remain undefeated overall, Nagato also big winner

By JR Salazar (Bongaboi)
June 28, 2010

In spite of Mio Akiyama and Hinagiku Katsura remaining unbeaten through five International Saimoe League necklace phases, Shana continues to make her point across that unbeaten records don't matter; winning those jewels do.

Not like the Flame Haze herself won't mind going on a gem bender, as she secured the 2010 ISML Emerald necklace with a 2894-1946 demolition of Kyou Fujibayashi.

"Just like clockwork," said Shana, wolfing down melon bread loaf number 130. "I think my fans will expect more of the same in the Ruby. As always, I salute them, and I thank every one here on this team, and well, nothing really needs to be said; bring on the Ruby!"

For Mikoto Misaka, the futility continued. She lost to Akiyama 2510-2348 in a contest plagued by prxy voting. The agony of falling short sent Accelerator of Academy City into a mental state of shock. "Not again," he moaned in disgust.

Misaka was unavailable for comment.

"Still unbeaten after five necklace periods," Akiyama said back at Sakuragaoka High School's music room. "I think I am in good stead to qualify for the Tiara."

As a matter of fact, all the girls from K-ON! wrapped up their Emerald runs with a win. Ui Hirasawa defeated Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere 2354-2235, Yui Hirasawa trounced Kagami Hiiragi 2463-2185 and Azusa Nakano clobbered Nagi Sanzen'in 2707-2124.

Katsura wrapped up her perfect Emerald campaign with a 2719-2036 triumph over Saber 2719-2036. "Nothing too difficult, I will say," Katsura said in a press conference at Hakuoh Academy. "This was a very good run, and even though I didn't get the necklace I think I am in a very good position to defend my crown."

Nagato wrapped up her clean sheet in the Emerald with a 2449-2324 defeat of Taiga Aisaka. "More of the same," she said. "I look forward to the Ruby with the same confidence and spirit I had in the Emerald."

The SOS Brigade picked up a sweep. Haruhi Suzumiya wrapped up her ISML Emerald run with a 2930-1708 walloping of Kurimu Sakurano and Mikuru Asahina edged Minatsu Shiina 2394-2100.

In a battle of the Bakemonogatari rivals, Nadeko Sengoku defeated Hitagi Senjougahara 2035-2011. A pillow fight of the winless saw Mihoko Fukuji look set to be the odd girl out as she lost to Hanyuu Furude 2374-1387.

And in the special match, it was not even close. Rebecca Miyamoto defeated Noriko Nijou easily 1999-1063.

In other ISML Emerald action...Mei Sunohara scored a 2168-2129 thriller over Ikaros, Nanoha Takamachi defeated Minori Kushieda 2334-2126, Chizuru Akaba whipped past Fuuko Ibuki 2334-2043, Nagisa Furukawa routed Rika Furude 2691-1596 and Tsukasa Hiiragi barreled past Chiaki Minami 2287-1896.

Konjiki no Yami (Golden Darkness) crushed Nodoka Haramura 2816-1080, Kotomi Ichinose took out Isumi Saginomiya 2362-2059, Mafuyu Shiina wrapped up her Emerald run with an impressive 2359-2135 victory over Konata Izumi and Maria tore down Ami Kawashima 2690-1704.

Wrapping up ISML Emerald play...Ruiko Saten stormed past Nymph 2360-1803, Ryou Fujibayashi rolled past Ushio Okazaki 2023-1791, Tomoyo Sakagami upended Holo 2441-2060 and C.C. defeated Illyasviel von Einzbern 2466-2027.

The 2010 International Saimoe League rolls on with the Ruby necklace phase, representing fire, and the inner core of the Earth. Hinagiku Katsura is the defending champion here, but she will be tested. Match Day 1 is scheduled for American Independence Day, July 4, 2010.

ISML 2010: Shana on pace to earn another necklace

ISML 2010: Shana on pace to earn another necklace

June 25, 2010

Shana is one win away from earning her second necklace of the 2010 International Saimoe League.

With a 2838-1583 crushing of Nagisa Furukawa in the Emerald phase, an emphatic win over Kyou Fujibayashi will give the Flame Haze her second necklace of her already-fantastic ISML campaign.

"I don't pay attention to the numbers," Shana said, eating her 125th loaf of melon bread. "What I will pay attention to is Kyou. She can pack a punch. But so can I, and I will be ready to take this one."

Fujibayashi defeated Fuuko Ibuki 2316-1337 in her contest. "This is going to be one of the biggest matches in my career. I hope to be the spoiler on Sunday."

Another big matchup involved Mikoto Misaka and Mio Akiyama. Akiyama is one of the two unbeatens in the tournament, along with defending ISML champion Hinagiku Katsura.

Akiyama defeated Chizuru Akaba easily, 2982-1418 while Misaka trounced Kotomi Ichinose 2610-1646. Akiyama will come into the contest as the favorite, but Misaka feels that she has a chance to deal K-ON!'s flagship character her first loss of the season.

"In this tournamernt, you don't know what to expect," Misaka said. "Expect more surprises along the way."

Yuki Nagato and Taiga Aisaka clash in another major match on Emerald 7. Nagato has more to gain from winning this contest, since she currently sits second on the Emerald table.

Nagato defeated Minatsu Shiina 2835-1537 while Aisaka sounded off Nanoha Takamachi 2751-1499.

Finally, Saber and Hinagiku Katsura will take on each other in a special Sunday sparring session. While neither may stand a chance at winning the Emerald, Hinagiku's unbeaten streak is at stake.

Saber slashed past Maria 2462-1778 while Katsura took out C.C. 2584.

By the end of Emerald phase, there will only be one winless contestant in the ISML. Both Hanyuu Furude and Mihoko Fukuji face each other on Sunday.

Furude fell to Nadeko Sengoku while Fukuji was walloped by Kagami Hiiragi 3041-896.

Bakemonogatari secured a sweep with Hitagi Senjougahara's 2287-1593 victory over Ikaros. Also picking up a sweep was the SOS Brigade. Haruhi Suzumiya whipped past Ui Hirasawa 2728-1598 while Mikuru Asahina easily flattened Ami Kawashima 2496-1622.

In the special match, Fatina from Tower of Druaga defeated Sayoko Arashiyama of Natsu no Arashi 1470-1237.

In other ISML action... Holo chomped up Ruiko Saten 2439-1625, Mafuyu Shiina stomped Nymph 2520-1267, Fate Testarossa demolished Chiaki Minami 2395-1473, Konata Izumi blew apart Mei Sunohara 2394-1633, Illyasviel von Einzbern prevailed over Isumi Saginomiya 2169-1865 and Rin Tosaka torched Ushio Okazaki 2473-1542.

Nagi Sanzen'in rolled past Nodoka Haramura 3221-774, Minori Kushieda picked up a 2170-1707 victory over Rika Furude, Azusa Nakano romped past Tsukasa Hiiragi 3121-1161, Yui Hirasawa rocked Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere 2646-1649 and Kurimu Sakurano scored an impressive 2047-1752 win over Konjiki no Yami (Golden Darkness).

The 2010 International Saimoe League Emerald phase wraps up on Sunday with Match Day 7. Vote online on your favorite candidates at InternationalSaimoe.com.

As I thought throughout the day, David Stern you should be very proud. You got what you wanted:

Free throws: 37-17 Lakers

Two evenly matched teams and this is what your referees come up with? You should be ashamed. I thought the Fakers were going to spend the whole 4th quarter at the free throw line.

Joke. Your league is a joke. Why did the Celts bother to play????

Our eyes don't lie to us. We trust our instincts. The game was f'n fixed!

For people who are still not convinced that the NBA is fixed, what more evidence do you need?

The Refs bailed the Lakers out at every possession in the stretch. They took the game out of the C's hands. In what other sport is this allowed?

Congrats LA, you are now right next to the Yankees in my book, and you too Kobe, you are now on the same level with Purple Lips, Arod. I absolutely hate you, deep to the core. You are no MJ, and never will be. You are lucky Derek the Flopper made his 3 and Artest finally showed up. It's sickening to lose after outplaying the lakers for 3.5 quarters. This one is going to hurt for a long, long time. I am proud to say I refuse to watch the postgame and celebration. KG played his tail of tonight too. But, again, we were out rebounded.

It's amazing what a bunch of losers a lot of you sound like. I wasn't rooting for either team, but just wanted a good game, which we got. To say that David Stern fixed the game so the Lakers would win is so stupid and juvenile. It doesn't even make sense. Even if the NBA were corrupt as many of you say, all David Stern would want is a seven game series. Once he got to that why would he care who wins. The NBA doesn't make any extra money because the Lakers win. As for the foul discrepancy, sometimes that happens. I watched the game and it seemed pretty even to me as far a bad calls go. The fact is that the Celtics did foul a lot more. It was obvious. I bet if the foul calls would have been in the Celtics favor, and the Celtics won no Celtic fan would say the win was tainted and the Lakers got screwed. Quit being such poor sports. The Celtics lost this one. Get over it.

The second half looked like a pickup game at the local jail. Lakers were the better team...more talent...home court....good breaks......but man those officials really went over the top in the fourth quarter.......typical NBA for the past 20 years....and I hate BOTH of these teams.

Celts fans...cheer up, only a couple a more months before football season and I am sure Danny will retool. Boston is still a huge market with great revenue and wealth, we will be able to take care of our needs in free agency. LA on the other hand, has the entertainment industry which, as we know is declining. It wont be too long before most of it is comoditized and no longer centralized in LA and these dopes will be left cheering for the Clippers as the Lakers move to Mexico City!

Why can't any of the spoiled babies on this Blog simply acknowledge that the Celtics got beat by a physically better team instead of:
1. blaming the refs
2. accusing the NBA of a conspiracy
3. finding fault with (pick any of them) a Celtic player's perceived performance?

Face it guys: you are so used to your team playing thug basketball all season long that it becomes expected. When your coach won't (or can't) make the adjustments necessary to contain a physically superior (longer, quicker, and can finish layups), all you can do is rely on beating up the other team. This is Celtic basketball.

Too bad the refs didn't go for it.

37-17 couldn't be more accurate.

All major sports cheat against the Boston teams. Heck also look at the NHL giving Philly 4 straight games too.
I think there needs to be an investigation into tonight's cheating lead by Tommy Heinsohn and a six pack of beer!

+++++

Because Boston fans are completely pathetic and dillusional! If they dont win, there has to be some external forces or some organization conspiring against their teams. Because there is no way in heck that any Boston teams could lose to any other teams in any sports.

There is a reason why...outside of New England, the Boston fans are the most hated in all professional sport cities!!

ISML 2010: Shana takes command of Emerald phase

ISML 2010: Shana takes command of Emerald phase

June 17, 2010

It seems like Shana wants to add to her burgeoning necklace collection. And while it is too early to say, the Flame Haze is coming out with guns blazing.

Shana torched Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere 3180-1056 to rise to first in the 2010 International Saimoe League Emerald phase.

Defending ISML champion Hinagiku Katsura recorded an easy 3027-1196 rout of winless Hanyuu Furude, while Mio Akiyama stayed undefeated with a 3037-1344 annihilation of Konjiki no Yami (Golden Darkness).

Team Nanoha-TSAB picked up another rare sweep. In a match that was all too predictable to call, Nanoha Takamachi was the next to add to Nodoka Haramura's disappointing performance, blasting her 2648-959. Fate Testarossa kept her chances of gaining one of the last spots in the 2010 International Saimoe League Tiara phases alive with a 2222-1775 triumph over Isumi Saginomiya.

Bakemonogatari also claimed a clean sheet. Hitagi Senjougahara tore down Minori Kushieda 2335-1644 while Nadeko Sengoku edged Konata Izumi 2186-2007.

In the special match, a close contest saw Mion Sonozaki score a thrilling 1874-1862 victory. This is the closest special match result so far in the ISML regular season-a winning margin of just 12 votes!

In other ISML action...Nagisa Furukawa silences Ryou Fujibayashi 2714-989, Tomoyo Sakagami took out Illyasviel von Einzbern 2453-1748, Kotomi Ichinose sounded off Mihoko Fukuji 2764-1020, Minatsu Shiina shined off Ikaros 2234-1515, Yui Hirasawa destroyed Kurimu Sakurano 2645-1690 and Maria cruised past Ui Hirasawa 2288-1954.

Azusa Nakano pounced on Rin Tosaka 2664-1760, Kyou Fujibayashi defeated Holo 2179-1915, Taiga Aisaka romped past Mei Sunohara 2934-1309, Kagami Hiiragi stormed past Rika Furude 2584-1398, Chizuru Akaba flattened Nymph 2316-1393 and Mikoto Misaka electrocuted Tsukasa Hiiragi 2814-1404.

Nagi Sanzen'in knocked out Mikuru Asahina 2387-1869, C.C. whipped past Chiaki Minami 2535-1475, Haruhi Suzumiya thumped Fuuko Ibuki 2769-1484, Yuki Nagato dismissed Ruiko Saten 2974-1344, Saber slashed past Ushio Okazaki 2811-1363 and Mafuyu Shiina was too good for Ami KAwashima 2505-1525.

Match Day 3 of the 2010 International Saimoe League Emerald phase is scheduled for Thursday, June 17, 2010. Vote online on you favorite candidates at InternationalSaimoe.com.
