ISML 2010: Azusa pulls off Diamond shocker as Shana remains first

Shana remained first in the 2010 International Saimoe League Diamond necklace race with a 3064-1898 demilition of Nadeko Sengoku. Meanwhile, Azusa Nakano pulled off an impressive 2623-2307 victory over Yuki Nagato to creep up to second in the standings.

Overall leader Mio Akiyama remained first with a 3096-1808 victory over Konata Izumi while defending champion Hinagiku Katsura cruised to a 27774-2158 victory over Yui Hirasawa.

Hina's win was part of a rare Hayate the Combat Butler sweep. Isumi Saginomiya defeated Ryou Fujibayashi 2397-2087, Maria trounced Tsukasa Hiiragi 2620-1954 and Nagi Sanzen'in was all busines against Fate Testarossa 2848-1821.

The special match was a flat-out mismatch as Vocaloid's Miku Hatsune ran away with a 3797-1002 victory over Kyonko.

In a match between Fate/Stay Night rivals, Saber got the best of Rin Tosaka 2739-1577. In a set of other noteworthy matchups, Haruhi Suzumiya defeated Kagami Hiiragi 2727-1993, Kyou Fujibayashi defeated Hitagi Senjougahara 2471-2099 and Shana torched Nadeko Sengoku 3064-1898.

The closest battle of the day came between Konjiki no Yami (Golden Darkness) and Nanoha Takamachi. The result? One of the greatest wins for one of the greatest spies from To-Love-Ru, a 2098-2096 thriller over Nanoha.

In other ISML action...Rika Furude rolled to a 2533-1435 win over Mihoko Fukuji, Ami Kawashima annihilated Nodoka Haramura 2660-1468, Ui Hirasawa whipped past Minori Kushieda 2649-1983, Minatsu Shiina defeated Ruiko Saten 2356-2035 and Mikuru Asahina demolished Nymph 2942-1340.

Nagisa Furukawa thumped Hanyuu Furude 2942-1340, Fuuko Ibuki slammed Ikaros asunder 2427-1930, Mikoto Misaka electrocuted Holo 2790-1922 and Kotomi Ichinose took down Ushio Okazaki 2465-1537.

Tomoyo Sakagami upended Mafuyu Shiina 2460-2053, Chizuru Akaba rumbled past Mei Sunohara 2420-1891, C.C. steamrolled past Louise Francoise Le Blanc De La Valliere 2508-2025 and Taiga Aisaka romped past Kurimu Sakurano 3081-1598.

We are into the home stretch of the 2010 International Saimoe League regular season and it looks like the field for the Tiara is becoming clearer than crystal. Opaque crystal, that is.
